About us
Empowering Families, Overcoming Poverty Since 2002
We all need support through the most important period of our children: the early years
Across Sri Lanka, economic hardship and social inequality create serious barriers for children’s education, health, and future. Families in vulnerable communities face daily struggles that their children should never have to carry. That’s why Dimuthu Foundation — a government-registered NGO and child charity in Sri Lanka founded in 2002 — dedicates itself to children as the most valuable investment of tomorrow.
We believe a child who is fed, sheltered, protected, and guided grows into a person who strengthens their entire community. Once children thrive, families and communities across the island flourish alongside them.
Founder & Chairman
Since 2002, Rev. Dr. Jude Nicholas Fernando, Founder Chairman of the Dimuthu Foundation, has guided the organization with unwavering dedication to children’s rights, education, family empowerment, and community development. Through compassionate leadership and a deep commitment to the most vulnerable, marginalized, destitute and disadvantaged children, he continues to walk alongside children and families across Sri Lanka, helping them move toward dignity, hope, and self-reliance.
We concentrate on sharing, gratitude, sacrifice, solidarity, collaboration, community building, self-sufficiency, voluntary service and auto sustainability.
